Going Bananas

When children are grabbed or forced to do something against their will, they must know to take the steps necessary to let others know they're being abducted.

Children can do this by yelling "Help me! This is not my Mother/Father!" "This person is trying to kill me!" Children should also be taught not to be taken without a struggle or without attempting to get free. In most Martial Arts schools this process is called controlled struggle, or "going bananas." Students learn how to use mobility and leverage to avoid being taken. In short, children learn how to get physical in a controlled way.

While there may be times when children are unable to struggle, it's critical for them to at least attempt to go bananas as loud as visibly possible.
