Handicap Lure
There are few things predators won't do to lower their victim's guard. Asking for help while acting injured is one of the most cunning. Although used by many predators, this technique was a favorite of serial killer, Ted Bundy. Before killing his victims, Bundy lowered their guard by acting as if had a broken arm or leg. His deception even went so far as wearing a phony plaster cast to lend more realism to his appearance of helplessness. A predator can appear to be quite helpless while seated in a wheelchair struggling to accomplish a simple task. An onlooker sees what appears to be a helpless handicapped person who needs help. This particular lure is extremely effective with women, as well. It is just that much more effective when used on children. (Children should not respond to anyone asking for assistance without first advising their parents or an adult they know and trust.)
