e-NAK, Issue #004 - Marvelous March March 17, 2009 |
Professor Sal's Words Of WisdomHello NAK Team, There are just about 13 days left to Marvelous March. This month has been very exciting for the NAK Team as well as for many NAK Team members and their families. I first have to say the rapport, school spirit and camaraderie is the best we have ever seen it. For myself, I recently came off of an extreme high after visiting the MARTIAL ARTS UNIVERSITY INTERNATIONAL (MAUI) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. *MAUI is where the best of the best Martial Artist on the planet come together to learn, train and share some of the best Martial Arts and school practices world wide.* I mention this to let you know that as we continue to grow and get better it will allow you to grow and get better as well. I started the Martial Arts at the age of 10 and now with over 30 years of training I still continue to get juiced, fired up and motivated to hit the mats and teach first class people as yourself as well to train my butt off to raise my personal standards to a Hole Nuther level. (H.N.L). I mention this short biography because I truly believe that the Martial Arts can solve any problem or situation that we encounter in life. I am going to encourage you not to underestimate what the Martial Arts can do for Physical education. The Martial Arts can make people look better, feel better and grow better.* The best savings account you can open right now is the one that gives you Self improvement, Better health, Better mental focus and Better physicality. When all these components are in balance you can and will continue to enjoy a life full of health, wealth and happiness.

If you are the first to deploy these concepts into your life or industry you will take yourself and business/career to a level like never before. So if you truly want to increase your attitude, performance or even your revenues better than anyone else in your field or profession, then read the following. 95% of people will not do this assignment, that is why only 5% of the world is truly enjoying a life of health, wealth and happiness. Lets encourage each other to join the top 5% of high achievers and complete this 3 minute exercise. Once you complete it, you must look at it everyday and use focus + action until you begin to achieve the results you want to see. What three things are you currently do very well? 1. 2. 3.
Top three things you would like to improve on 1. 2. 3.
What action do I need to take immediately to improve? 1. 2. 3.
When do I Start? 1. 2. 3.
Lastly, you have to celebrate each victory. How do you celebrate and reward? Give to yourself. Here are some ideas: Give yourself cash gifts Maybe a dinner Maybe just quiet time or a weekend for yourself and loved ones. You decide! NAKGetFit“To Climb steep hills requires slow pace at first.” - Shakespeare, Henry VIII. Act 1, Sc 1A new study by Ray Browning, PhD, University of Colorado; has found that obese individuals who walked one mile at a leisurely pace burned more calories than if they walked a mile at their normal pace. In addition, those who walked at two miles per hour rather than three miles per hour reduced the load on their knee joints by up to 25%. The message is that by walking more slowly, obese individuals can burn more calories per mile and may reduce the risk of arthritis or joint injury. Everyone should walk at least 10 to 15 minutes a day and increase your fitness level. Old thinking was to work out in a sweat–filled gym for hours a day. No pain, no gain. New studies show that even short bouts of activity can increase your fitness level, especially if you’re new at working out. Raising NAK kidsCorrecting others is powerful—and it can be dangerous.Done the right way, it builds people up, but done the wrong way, it can scar a person for life.
The difference between the right and the wrong way to correct is your attitude. If all you're doing is pointing out faults, then stop. The purpose is to correct, not to condemn.
You need to ask, "What's my motive in this? Am I correcting him for my benefit or for his benefit?" Speak the truth in love. Love means giving people what they need rather than what they deserve. A child’s self image is built over time with messages from the important people in his life. So this is the key to proper correction: Affirm the person; then correct the behavior.
