Marvelous May

Hello Champions,

I just wanted to share with you a quick note that I hope is a little motivational for you, not just for Marvelous May but for this upcoming Summer Blitz! You know as a Martial Artist it is our responsibility to stay on top of our game with CANI => Constant And Never Ending Improvement! We should also try to stay in tip top shape, not just mentally and physically, but emotionally, financially, etc... I would like to encourage you not to become complacent in any of the areas we have just discussed. If you do you will see that you are not able to keep on the climb.

As the old saying goes " If the tree stops growing it begins to die!"

The reality is you must drive yourself. If you are a business owner you can relate to this. If you do not drive your business you are likely to be driven out of business.

So what do we do? Continue to get yourself at a peak. Once your mental, physical and emotional self is at a constant peak, it is a heck of lot more fun to remain in top shape and push yourself to an H.N.L=> Hole Nuther Level! Motivational speaker John Maxwell talks about the law of the BIG MO! When he refers to the law of momentum he discusses that once the power of momentum is on your side keep moving with it, because great things are about to happen. This is a perfect time to create momentum. Get your momentum built up for the summer blitz. I would also like to hear about how you are creating a massive action plan for getting in the best shape of yourself for this upcoming summer.

At NAK, this month is dedicated to our Marvelous Mom's! We would like to to say thank you to all of the Marvelous Mom's for all that you do!

We realize that 80% of the children that attend our school get taken to our school by their Mom's. With so many things going on, on a daily basis each and everyone of you great MOM'S still manage to get your children to the dojo. Thank you! We also have another section of our school packed with MOM'S. That is our adult program! More and more moms are throwing on the belts and stepping on the mats for some great cardio, strength and flexibility training along with extremely beneficial martial art defensive tactics.

I would like to say the P.O.W => Power of woman...is getting stronger everyday and in every way. I just have one question for some of you. Why aren't you here?

If you are a mom and not currently enrolled into our Adult program this is the time to take Massive Action if you are hoping to see Massive Results for the summer time! You can speak to any of the current ladies in our adult classes. Not only are they getting in the best shape of their lives, they look great, feel great and are better able to handle the daily the grind!

We would like to offer you a special opportunity to get into our adult classes. Marvelous May is FREE for all MOMS! Join the other moms who started this week and are enjoying the great workouts!

Take action today! Drop me an email or go to our website www.gotthenak.com and fill out our enrollment form and I promise to have your start up package ready and waiting for you at the school.

Dads if you are not sure what to get your wife for Mothers Day! Think about a gift certificate into our adult classes. Hey, the better she looks and feels... the better we all feel!

As the old saying goes "If MOM isn't happy, ain't nobody happy!" Just kidding!

Many people have commented on the great relationship that my wife and I have. They ask how do you make it work?

My answer is very simple. Do I want to be right or happy. I rather be happy so my wife is always right!

But seriously, a happy wife is certainly a happy life!

Just remember the best ideas are the ones we take action on! If you take action today the power of momentum will be on your side.

I hope this email continues to motivate our current members and sparks positive action for any current family members that are on the fence about getting started.

Don't wait...create!

Live with energy, purpose and passion,

Professor Sal Banuelos

NAKGetFit

Get Fit, Stay Fit

Physical exercise does more than transform your body: it can boost your mood, improve your work performance, and help you live a longer, better life.

With summer fast approaching vacation time takes us away from our routine of working out.

Here 5 ways to stay fit while on vacation.

1. Be Prepared. When you travel, whether by plane, train, or car, be prepared with healthy food so you won’t have to eat whatever is available. Start the day with a nutritious breakfast, then pack easy snacks or a small meal.

2. Plan ahead to fit in Fitness. Vacations should be an opportunity to re-energize, refresh, and relax -- not an excuse to take a break from health. When planning your vacation, search for locations that will allow you to engage in physical activities you enjoy. Keep in mind that physical activity is the ticket to enjoying extra calories without weight gain.

3. Avoid Dining-Out Disasters. Eating out may pose the biggest challenge for avoiding vacation weight gain. It is easy to control calories if you stay away from fried, crispy, or creamy foods; hold extras such as cheese and mayo; top salads with low-fat dressings; drink water instead of sodas.

4. Indulge in Moderation. Deprivation is no fun when you're on vacation. Instead, use moderation when it comes to controlling calories from treats and alcohol. So have one scoop of ice cream instead of the sundae, or split that decadent dessert with a dining companion.

5. Pare down portions. Even when you're on vacation, portions count if you want to avoid weight gain.

Have a great vacation and don't forget NAK loves to receive your postcards and or pictures!

Raising NAK kids

Bully Proofing Your Kids

KEEPING YOUR CHILD SAFE BY TEACHING THEM THE TO BE

Ten Feet Tall and Bully Proof

C. A. L. M.

You help your child with their homework, help them with bullies too. Once you choose a technique, rehearse it together so your child is comfortable trying it. The trick is for your child to deliver it assuredly to the bully--and that takes practice. Explain that though he has the right to feel angry, it’s not okay to let it get out of control. Besides, anger just fuels the bully. Try teaching your child the CALM approach to defusing the tormentor.

C-Cool down. When you confront the bully, stay calm and always in control. Don’t let him think he’s getting to you. If you need to calm down, count to twenty slowly inside your head or say to yourself, “Chill out!” And most importantly: tell your child to always get help whenever there is a chance she might be injured.

A-Assert yourself Try the strategy with the bully just like you practiced.

L-Look at the teaser straight in the eye. Appear confident, hold your head high and stand 10 feet tall and bully proof.

M-Mean it. Use a firm, strong voice. Say what you feel, but don’t be insulting, threaten or tease back.

Events

Special mothers gift, all non-active Mother's train for free for the month of May.

Word Of The Month

Forgiving

To forgive someone is to let go of anger or resentments you feel towards them. As a martial artist be compassionate and do not hold grudges against people even when they have not behaved with kindness or best way possible towards you. Anger will eat you up inside; be strong enough to forgive the weakness of others.
